Solid or Slotted?
The choice is simply personal aesthetics- There are no tonal differences between the two, however I list the practical merits of each style on their respective pages.
Signature Fading Purfling lines
Each instrument features my signature 'Fading Purfling' lines, which is a design element I took a long time to develop and master. The resulting effect is that of rolling mountains fading into the distance and reminiscent of J.R.R Tolkien's style of cartography with his use of overlapping and fading contour lines to represent topography.
All my head stocks are bound in crisply mitered wood using the same binding material as the instrument's body and fingerboard.
Matching mitered purfling accompanies all binding work.
